MARIKO NAKAYAMA & SHIN JINUSHI COLLECTION
January 24 – May 19, 2026
In February 2025, MADISONBLUE TOKYO opened its doors in Minami-Aoyama.
The first artworks presented for the grand opening were drawn from the collection that Mariko Nakayama and Shin Jinushi have carefully assembled over many years.
On the first floor, visitors are welcomed by a black-and-white photograph capturing NOKKO’s radiant smile and edgy style. Nakayama, working as her stylist, shaped NOKKO’s distinctive visual identity, while photographer Ellen von Unwerth captured the moment. The image embodies the “original energy” that lies at the heart of MADISONBLUE.
Centered around this photograph, the first floor presents a selection of works that reflect the journey MADISONBLUE has taken so far, while the second floor looks toward the landscapes the brand envisions for the future. From the gaze of a woman portrayed by Alex Katz to Chiharu Shiota’s installation woven with red thread, each work quietly speaks to MADISONBLUE’s sensibility as it moves into a new chapter.
Together, the works across the two floors offer a view of both where MADISONBLUE has been and where it is going.
